{"id":104,"date":"2019-03-28T17:08:59","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T17:08:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nctc.mycareerfocus.org\/spring-2019-volume-4-issue-1\/world-champs-not-just-horsin-around\/"},"modified":"2019-03-28T21:00:43","modified_gmt":"2019-03-28T21:00:43","slug":"world-champs-not-just-horsin-around","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nctc.mycareerfocus.org\/spring-2019-volume-4-issue-1\/world-champs-not-just-horsin-around\/","title":{"rendered":"World Champs: Not Just Horsin\u2019 Around"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Away from the classroom, a select group <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">of NCTC\u2019s agriculture and equine science students are \u201crockin\u2019 it\u201d in rodeo arenas whenever they get the chance.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It started when the NCTC Stock Horse Team took home the<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">World Champion title at the Western <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Horseman Stock Horse World Show during the Fall 2018 semester, placing first in the Division 1 Collegiate Competition ahead of Texas Tech University and Texas A&amp;M University, who placed second and third, respectively. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">This semester, the team was invited to <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">compete in the National Reined Cow <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Horse Association\u2019s Fort Worth event <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">\u2014 the 2019 Celebration of Champions <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Horse Show \u2014 and its individual riders <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">accrued enough points to garner the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">overall Team Championship.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Meanwhile, NCTC\u2019s Intercollegiate Horse Show Team finished as Reserve Champion High Point Team at its first show of the spring semester.
